Svetlana, our registered massage therapist at Pain Away Massage is regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). For the sake of public interest, the CMTO has full authority to audit our records and interview our employees as part of their regulations. Furthermore, as an ethical facility, we will expose other practitioners’ extreme wrongdoing, negligence or incapacity, whether they belong to other organizations or our own. Our company also insists that it should submit to the authorities facts indicating serious criminal activity. External authorities have rigorous privacy responsibilities of their own. Third-parties such as the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency and the Human Rights Commission are allowed to inspect our files and interview our workers as part of their demands. If such a circumstance is to arise, our clinic works with experts such as lawyers and accountants, to investigate the issue at hand and report back to us.
Third parties such as insurance companies pay for services offered at our clinic. These third parties payers frequently have the client’s approval and legal authority to contact us and further disclose personal information to confirm the client’s right to the funding.
